Antavia, a division of component specialist Ametek, has opened its new wheels and brakes facility at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.

The new facility is part of the company’s strategy to expand its service offerings to factor in increased traffic from North American operators to Europe. Currently, Antavia capabilities cover wheels and brakes, hydraulics, landing gear, cabin equipment, lighting systems, electronics, electrical power and rewinding.

Engineers from Antavia’s smaller repair shop located nearby have been brought over to the new 27,000 ft.2 facility. All workspaces have been redesigned following LEAN/5S principles, according to the company, and reflect the setup of its main shop in Toulouse.

“Proximity to CGD is a huge benefit for aircraft operators and owners” says Ismaël Fadili, sales and marketing director at Antavia. “The move has enabled Antavia to integrate new equipment and further enhance our very short overhaul and tire change turnaround times."

“It is our policy to duplicate skills and expertise in our areas of niche expertise” adds Alan Harding, divisional vice president MRO Europe and Asia for parent company Ametek MRO. “We have developed a huge depth of experience in the wheels and brakes arena that Antavia will replicate in Asia as we expand our footprint and increase our services in 2022.”
