MRO software provider Swiss-AS is preparing to roll out several new digital products for paperless maintenance management.

The first new product deployment it is planning for 2022 is an add-on to its AMOS MRO software called AMOSmobile/STORES. The application will enable storekeepers to use AMOS software on mobile devices to perform daily operations. It builds on Swiss-AS’s existing AMOSmobile suite, which enables technicians to access information and input data on mobile devices.

Swiss-AS is also collaborating with its customer TAP Maintenance & Engineering to develop a new CROM (Component Repair, Overhaul & Manufacture) module for managing component-related MRO and manufacturing activities in a shop environment. It says CROM will replace its existing Component Maintenance module in AMOS and it will offer full integration with other AMOS modules.

By the end of 2023, Swiss-AS also plans to release a new electronic technical logbook (eTLB) application. It says the eTLB will be integrated with AMOS to help flight crews easily access and report aircraft airworthiness. Several other electronic technical log products already integrate with AMOS, including those offered by Ultramain and Skypaq.

According to Swiss-AS, its eTLB will be a Type A electronic flight bag (EFB) application, so its scope will include documents retrieval, storage and simple feedback of complete/not complete business processes. It says the product will not require a complicated and expensive implementation and continuous certification process, such as what is required for Type B and C EFB products.

The new product developments come on the heels of a slew of new airline customers signing onto AMOS. Last month HAECO Hong Kong went live with AMOS to support its maintenance processes, including airframe services, line maintenance and material management. Swiss-AS says 12 new airline customers signed up for AMOS in 2021 and multiple customers deployed the software last year, including Avelo Airlines, Eastern Airlines and Gulf Air.

One airline customer, which first signed a deal for AMOS in 2019, will finally deploy the software this year following a pandemic-related delay. According to Swiss-AS, Lufthansa is in in the process of deploying the software to maintain its fleet.
