Etihad’s in-house creative team conceptualized and designed a 20th anniversary livery for one of its six Airbus A321neos.
The intricate design took Etihad Creative about nine months from selecting the best aircraft for the design through the aircraft’s delivery.
Etihad decided to use a new A321neo entering the fleet opposed to repainting an aircraft already in its fleet.
Paint supplier Eirtech produced the decals for this design and Etihad Engineering in Abu Dhabi painted the aircraft and applied the decals as part of entry-into-service activities.
This designed will only be used on this particular A321.
“All bespoke Etihad liveries have been conceptualized and designed in-house by our graphic designers,” says an Etihad spokesperson.
Aviation Week Network’s Fleet Discovery shows Etihad operates 91 aircraft, with two of the six ordered A321neos in its fleet today. Its largest fleet this year is the Boeing 787-9.
