In a move signaling further expansion into the UK market, Irish maintenance company Dublin Aerospace has confirmed the opening of a new line maintenance station in Belfast.
The station will operate at Belfast City Airport, a single runway site located three miles from central Belfast. Dublin Aerospace says it is looking to add to its workforce for the operation, but hasn’t disclosed the number of staff it is looking to employ.
The company expanded into the UK two years ago after acquiring the maintenance division of airline Flybe in 2020.
The business operates under the name Exeter Aerospace and is based in Exeter in southwest England, where it offers base maintenance services across six hangar bays for ATR and De Havilland DHC-8 turboprops along with Embraer regional aircraft.
“By utilizing our Exeter Aerospace CAA approval, we now have the ability to further service the UK commuter aircraft market,” says William Flaherty, CEO at Dublin Aerospace. He adds that its Belfast site combined with its Exeter operation will enable it to better serve its customer base across the islands.
Dublin Aerospace’s capabilities include repair and overhaul for auxiliary power units, integrated drive generators and landing gear, as well as base maintenance services. The company says its Dublin headquarters can handle around 70 aircraft annually, comprised of Airbus A320, A330 and Boeing 737 aircraft.
It also operates a landing gear facility in Ashbourne, Ireland.
