From The Archives: Predator Agricultural Aircraft
On the cover of the Feb, 5, 1985 issue is the Predator agricultural aircraft, which was developed for Advanced Technology Aircraft Co. in Hanford, California, by Scaled Composites in Mojave, California. The composite proof-of-concept aircraft, with a wingspan of nearly 59 ft. has been designed to provide increased operational efficiency and safety for agricultural operators.
The Predator is powered by 400-hp. Lycoming I0-720 engine and has an 80-cu-ft. hopper forward of the cockpit for agricultural spraying applications.
