From The Archives: Amphibious Sikorsky S-62

On the front cover of the June 2, 1958 issue of Aviation Week, Including Space Technology, was an amphibious Sikorsky S-62. This is the first of its kind, making a water landing at 60 kt. in full autorotation during a demonstration in Housatonic River, Conn. Flying boat hull's V bottom is designed to permit clean entry on touchdown in water.
