Etihad Airways will launch flights between its Abu Dhabi base and Peshawar, Pakistan, from Sept. 29. The route will be operated 5X-weekly initially, increasing to daily service from Nov. 22. The carrier will fly an Airbus A320 on the route configured with 158 seats, including eight in business class. Peshawar will become the fourth city in Pakistan served by Etihad, joining Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore.
Finnair plans to launch flights between Kittilä, Finland, and Alta, Norway, for the 2026 summer season. The route will be operated 5X-weekly from March 29, 2026, to October 2026 using an ATR 72 aircraft configured with 68 seats. “Known for its arctic nature, versatile outdoor activities and northern lights, Alta has also grown in popularity as a cruise ship destination in recent years,” Finnair noted. The airline will also increase frequencies between Ivalo, Finland, and Kirkenes, Norway, to 5X-weekly for the 2026 summer season, up from 3X-weekly flights being operated on the carrier’s 2025 summer schedule.
Emirates said it will place Airbus A380 aircraft with newly refurbished cabins on two of its routes from Dubai International Airport (DXB). Daily service to Manchester, England with the new A380 cabin will start June 6. Daily flights to Milan Malpensa Airport with the retrofitted A380 cabin will begin July 1. The carrier is already flying 4X-daily service between DXB and London Heathrow Airport with retrofitted A380s.
Qatar Airways will add three more weekly flights on its Doha-Manchester, England, route. From June 4, the carrier will operate 24X-weekly flights, up from 21X-weekly currently. The airline noted the route is flown with both Airbus A350-1000s and Boeing 787-9s.
Oman Air will add a second daily flight on its service between Muscat International Airport (MCT) and London Heathrow Airport (LHR) by the 2026 northern hemisphere summer season. From Oct. 26, the airline will fly 2X-daily service on four days, increasing to 2X-daily service every day by the 2026 summer. Bumping up service from 7X-weekly flights on the MCT-LHR route currently to 14X-weekly for the 2026 summer is “in response to popular demand and consistent route performance,” the airline said. Oman Air CEO Con Korfiatis added, “London has always been a cornerstone of our international network, and the UK represents one of our largest inbound tourism markets, so this enhancement not only strengthens our presence on this key route but also supports Oman’s wider tourism ambitions.” Oman Air’s MCT-LHR route is flown with Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

LATAM Airlines opened flights between Fortaleza, Brazil, and Lisbon. The route will be flown 1X-weekly on a seasonal basis through Oct. 20 with a Boeing 787 aircraft configured with 300 seats, including 30 in business class. Flight time is around 7 hr. 30 min. “In addition to passengers, the route is also expected to transport more than 20 tons of fruit a week from Fortaleza to the European market,” LATAM noted.
Delta Air Lines will launch service on two new Caribbean routes from its Atlanta base for the 2025-26 winter season. Daily Boeing 737-800 flights will be operated to both Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines from Dec. 20 through April 12, 2026.
Spirit Airlines will serve Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) in Georgia for the first time beginning later this year. The carrier will open four routes from SAV, starting with daily flights to Newark from Aug. 14. It will launch 4X-weekly flights between SAV and its Fort Lauderdale, Florida, base from Oct. 9. On the same date, Spirit will commence 3X-weekly service between SAV and Nashville, Tennessee. From Oct. 10, the airline will open 2X-weekly flights between SAV and Detroit.
BermudAir launched service between Bradley International Airport (BDL) near Hartford, Connecticut, and Bermuda’s Wade International Airport (BDA). The route will be served 2X-weekly year-round with an Embraer 175 aircraft. “BermudAir’s presence at Bradley Airport will allow for faster access to Bermuda and more convenience for both leisure and business travelers,” BDL Executive Director Michael Shea said. Previously, passengers traveling from BDL to BDA had to make a connection.

SkyUp Airlines, the Ukrainian carrier that has temporarily relocated its base of operations to Chișinău International Airport (RMO) in Moldova, will open three new routes in June. The airline will launch 2X-weekly flights from RMO to Berlin, Prague and Stockholm.
Ryanair kicked off seven routes from London Stansted Airport (STN) for the northern hemisphere summer-season schedule. New services from STN include flights to: Bodrum and Dalaman, Turkey; Clermont-Ferrand, France; Linz, Austria; Lübeck and Münster, Germany; and Reggio Calabria, Italy. The Irish LCC said it will “operate several flights per week” on each route.
Canada’s WestJet will continue to operate daily service between Calgary International Airport (YYC) and Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT) for the 2025-26 northern hemisphere winter season, extending the daily service it is flying on the route for its 2025 summer schedule. “The airline attributes the increase of service to the continued success of the route on both sides of the Pacific, after first having increased to daily service for its 2025 summer schedule,” WestJet said in a statement. Flights are operated with Boeing 787 aircraft. The airline noted WestJet passengers flying from YYC can connect via Japan Airlines codeshare flights from NRT to Nagoya and Osaka.
Air Cairo commenced service between Sharm El Sheikh International Airport (SSH) and Milan Bergamo Airport (BGY). The route will be operated 2X-weekly with an Embraer 190 aircraft. BGY noted 24 airlines will operate to 145 destinations in 39 countries for the 2025 northern hemisphere summer schedule, which started on March 30.
U.S. carrier Breeze Airways will open flights between Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) in Ohio and West Palm Beach, Florida from Sept. 5. The service, which was previously flown by the airline, will mark Breeze’s 11th route from CAK.

Delta Air Lines will open winter seasonal flights between Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) and Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands. The route will be operated 1X-weekly from Dec. 20 to mid-April 2026. Delta flew the DTW-Grand Cayman route before the pandemic. “With Detroit being a major Delta hub, this renewed service not only strengthens our airlift capacity but also reconnects us with a market that previously showed great enthusiasm for the Cayman Islands,” said Rosa Harris, the Cayman Islands’ tourism director. She added the route’s “return this winter completes a significant chapter in the recovery of our tourism industry.” The SkyTeam carrier will also launch service between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) in Texas and Cancun International Airport (CUN) in Mexico. The route will be operated daily on a seasonal basis from Dec. 20 to mid-April 2026. The AUS-CUN service will be flown with an Airbus A320 aircraft. Delta additionally plans to increase service on the AUS-Orlando International Airport (MCO) route to 2X-daily for the winter season, up from 1X-daily currently. “This now offers Austin customers both morning and afternoon flight options” to MCO, the Atlanta-based airline noted. Delta added it will operate around 60 daily departures from AUS for the 2025-26 winter season on peak days, up 35% year-over-year.
Netherlands-based Transavia kicked off service between Rotterdam and London Stansted Airport (STN). The route, to be exclusive to Transavia, will be flown 4X-weekly with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft. STN said the nonstop “link not only connects London Stansted with the second-largest city in the Netherlands, but also provides access to Transavia’s ... network, which includes popular destinations such as Rome, Cyprus and Dubai.”
Hong Kong Airlines will open flights between Hong Kong and Hulunbuir in Inner Mongolia, China. The service will begin April 29 and be flown 2X-weekly, increasing to 3X-weekly from June 5.
