The Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority (TCIAA) is targeting further air connectivity growth as American Airlines prepares to launch direct service from Miami to South Caicos.
Starting on Feb. 15, the carrier will introduce two flights per week on the route using Embraer 175 aircraft. Envoy Air will operate the service on behalf of American.
“This development is perfectly timed as South Caicos continues to grow as a premier destination, with new hotels like Salterra enhancing the island's appeal,” TCIAA Corporate Affairs and Communication Manager Nikeva Ariza tells Aviation Week at Routes Americas 2025.
The Miami-South Caicos service will be American Airlines’ only route to South Caicos, complementing the airline’s four existing routes to Providenciales International Airport during the summer 2025 season from Charlotte, Dallas-Fort Worth, Miami and Philadelphia.

The launch comes after Delta Air Lines in 2024 expanded its Turks and Caicos network with routes from Boston and Detroit, while Southwest Airlines launched nonstop flights from Orlando.
“These new routes are a testament to TCIAA’s commitment to growth and accessibility, ensuring that the Turks and Caicos Islands remain a preferred destination for leisure and business travelers,” Ariza says. “Looking ahead, TCIAA is actively exploring opportunities to introduce more routes from Europe, Latin America and the southern U.S.”
