What’s On The Horizon For: Los Cabos Tourism Board
The Los Cabos Tourism Board (FITURCA) is responsible for promoting the region’s tourism assets nationally and internationally. Offering a unique combination of mountains, desert and marine ecosystems, Los Cabos recorded more than 3.76 million air passenger arrivals in 2024.
International travelers accounted for 63.8% of those arrivals, with notable growth from North American cities such as Dallas, Denver, Phoenix, San Francisco and Vancouver.
Los Cabos also strengthened its presence in Europe following the launch of a new nonstop service from Frankfurt Airport to Los Cabos International Airport in November 2024. Operated by Condor, the route is currently the only direct connection between Europe and Los Cabos.
Rodrigo Esponda, CEO of Los Cabos Tourism Board, told Routes the Frankfurt route has spurred greater interest not only from Germany, but also from Italy, France, Spain and the UK. In response, the board has rolled out several marketing and activation campaigns aimed at increasing European visitation, with the goal of building a strong case for additional air services.
“It is critical to diversify into South America and Europe,” Esponda said. “Routes has been the channel where we have been able to connect with airlines across these regions.” The board is currently targeting expanded connectivity to the UK, Switzerland, Spain and Panama.
Exhibiting during Routes Americas 2025, Esponda added: “It’s always been very successful to participate in Routes and to have these meaningful connections with airlines where you can present the competitive advantages of why the destination is different.”
Los Cabos Tourism Board regularly utilizes its Routes 360 profile to engage directly with potential airline partners and promote its latest developments.
