U.S. carrier Breeze Airways, which added 29 airports to its growing network in 2024, will commence service from three more cities in May and June, including Memphis International Airport (MEM) in Tennessee.

Breeze will operate to around 70 airports when the new services kick off. The carrier flies about 220 domestic nonstop routes, 87% of which are noncompetitive.

Breeze CCO Lukas Johnson recently told Aviation Week that while the airline will not add as many new destinations in 2025 as 2024, “we are going to continue to grow and add a lot of connection options.”

Flights from MEM will launch on May 7 with 2X-weekly frequencies to Tampa, Florida. From May 9, the airline will open 2X-weekly service between MEM and Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) in North Carolina.

Breeze will start flights from Albany, New York, on June 5, when it commences 2X-weekly service to RDU. From June 13, it will start flying 2X-weekly between the New York capital and Charleston International Airport (CHS) in South Carolina.

The third market the carrier will enter is Rochester, New York, from which it will start service to both CHS (May 8) and RDU (May 9). Both routes will be flown 2X-weekly.

The new routes will be operated with Airbus A220 aircraft configured to carry 137 passengers. Breeze took delivery of 13 A220s in 2024, ending the year with 33 in its fleet. It also has 10 Embraer 190s and three E195s used for charter flights and to supplement the A220 fleet in scheduled service when needed.

Breeze will also launch a number of new routes between existing points in its network. Notably, it will open service between Akron-Canton, Ohio, and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on May 22. From May 9, the carrier will start 4X-weekly service between Orlando, Florida, and RDU.

Other routes to be launched connect smaller markets to each other. From May 1, the airline will begin 2X-weekly summer seasonal service between Fort Myers, Florida, and Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) in South Carolina. From May 2, the carrier will commence 2X-weekly summer seasonal flights between Columbus, Ohio, and Portland International Jetport (PWM) in Maine.

From May 30, Breeze will open 2X-weekly summer seasonal service between Burlington, Vermont, and CHS. On May 1, the carrier will launch 2X-weekly summer seasonal service from GSP to PWM and Westchester, New York.

Westchester will also be connected to Pittsburgh with 2X-weekly summer seasonal flights starting May 1.

In addition, from April 30, Breeze will open 2X-weekly summer seasonal flights between RDU and Pensacola, Florida.

Johnson said the airline is seeking unserved routes, not airports of a given size. “You may fly to LAX, but these are markets that don’t have service to LAX,” he explained.

But the network is dominated by smaller markets. Breeze CEO David Neeleman said in a statement that the carrier sees “great demand and opportunity for our … offering in secondary markets across the country.”

The airline, which is not publicly traded, recently reported it generated $680 million in revenue in 2024, up 78% over 2023. In the fourth quarter, Breeze generated $200 million in revenue and achieved an operating margin of more than 4%, representing its first quarterly operating profit.
