Montreal-based Avianor has signed what it describes as a “substantial long-term contract” to provide maintenance for Air Canada’s fleet of Airbus A220-300s.
Breeze has committed to grow its base at Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (PVD) to 35 destinations served by 2029, promising future Europe flights.
Breeze Airways has reiterated interest in a larger, longer-range version of the Airbus A220-300 that would make its chosen fleet type even more flexible.
Air France is preparing to upgrade the cabins of the Embraer 190s operated by regional subsidiary HOP. The flag-carrier’s regional operation currently flies 21 E190s.
While Virgin does not specify which aircraft types it is considering, they are believed to be Airbus A220-100s or Embraer E190-E2s, according to a VARA memo.
The request for 20 additional Airbus A220-300s is meant to fill the gap before its next batch of ordered A220s become available for delivery at the end of 2026.
Plans include $2.5 billion in aircraft deferments, new revenue initiatives, network refinements, and cuts across its cost base including real estate and staff.
Breeze Airways will add three more destinations to its network, including Denver, as part of 11 routes that will be part of the U.S. carrier’s summer schedule.
