BermudAir is adding larger Embraer E190s to its fleet, joining two E175s the carrier has in operation.

The Bermuda-based niche airline, which debuted in late 2023, operates the E175s in a two-class configuration. Originally, the airline aimed to operate those jets with 30 custom business seats, but supply chain challenges resulted in BermudAir opting to sell 44 of the jet’s original seats at the time of launch. Eventually, the carrier opted for a different layout and currently offers five fare classes.

BermudAir noted the 96-seat passenger E190s, which will join the carrier’s operations this spring, feature roughly 1,000 kg (2,000 lbs.) more cargo space and 1,000 km (540 nm) of range compared to the E175.

The first E190 will operate as a dedicated spare and on-demand charter aircraft, and the second E190 will allow BermudAir to increase frequencies and expand into additional markets.

New service has already been announced from Bermuda LF Wade International Airport to Charleston, South Carolina; Hartford, Connecticut; and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, beginning in April.

Data from CAPA show for the week of Jan. 21, BermudAir operates to seven destinations in North America. Its services to Canada includes flights to Halifax and Toronto. Its U.S. markets include Baltimore/Washington, Boston, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando in Florida, and Westchester County, New York.
