For the second year in a row, an Aviation Week editor has captured NBAA’s top journalism award.
Molly McMillin, editor-in-chief of The Weekly of Business Aviation, was named winner of the 2023 Gold Wing Award for Journalism Excellence. The award was announced and presented by NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen at a media breakfast in Las Vegas on the opening day of the NBAA-BACE conference.
Bolen said McMillin was chosen for the prestigious award based on two of her articles. “Wichita’s Manufacturing Transformation,” published in August 2022, examined the “Fourth Industrial Revolution” underway in manufacturing in the business aviation hub. “Business Aviation Makes Changes to Help Solve Workforce Challenges, ” which was published last month, detailed strategies being taken by business aviation manufacturers to cope with workforce shortages.
“Molly McMillin is one of the most accomplished and respected media professionals in aviation and aerospace,” said Bolen. “Her work is always well researched and well presented, and she balances her passion for all-things aviation with a commitment to present all sides of the story.”
McMillin has worked for Aviation Week for nine years. She previously won an NBAA Gold Wing award in 2013 as an aviation reporter for the Wichita Eagle, a daily newspaper.
Bill Carey, a senior business aviation editor at Aviation Week, won last year’s NBAA Gold Wing Award.
