Total MRO Under One Roof

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) continues to evolve its strategic approach to aviation support, introducing new capabilities with its longstanding expertise in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services and Conversion Services.
At the heart of IAI’s offerings is its “One Stop Shop” MRO model facility, which has been operational for over five decades. This facility consistently provides comprehensive services—ranging from heavy and line maintenance to modifications and complete engine and component support—all under one roof.
“Through the integration of advanced MRO capabilities, support for both legacy and emerging engine platforms, innovative passenger-to-freighter conversions, and a forward-looking trading division, IAI provides a full-spectrum solution tailored to every phase of the aircraft lifecycle,” said Yaacov Berkovitz, Executive Vice President and General Manager of IAI’s Aviation Group. “This strategy reflects over 70 years of aviation excellence while reinforcing our commitment to shaping the future of global fleet operations.”
IAI has recently expanded its portfolio with enhanced engine and component MRO capabilities, enabling customers to maximize the utilization of the time their assets are undergoing maintenance.

The range of supported engines, landing gears, and components has grown in response to customer demands, particularly on narrowbody aircraft engines of the new generation, including the LEAP engines and advanced servicing for 737NG/MAX fleets. New accessory packages, including Power by the Hour (PBH) contracts and customized MRO service solutions, now enhance IAI MRO's comprehensive aircraft and engine overhaul offerings. By the end of 2027, IAI plans to expand its capabilities in landing gear to support the A320 family, extending its existing services for 737NG/MAX.
Enhancing New-Generation Engine Support
In 2024, IAI achieved CFM LEAP engine MRO certification from EASA, FAA, and CAAC, enabling shop support for LEAP-1A, B, and C engines.
In 2025, IAI also anticipates receiving certification for in-house capability to perform full overhaul on LPT blades for the CFM56 engines family, joining a select list of few shops equipped with cutting-edge technologies that can offer such capabilities in-house to its customers. This capability significantly reduces turnaround times and reliance on external suppliers, marking a critical step toward next-generation engine support. In addition, LPT blade overhaul capability for additional engine types is also being developed.
Reflecting customer confidence in IAI’s services, long-term overhaul contracts under the Performance-Based Contract framework were signed for PW4000, V2500, and CFM series engines. A notable development was the 10-year contract with Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) for PW4000 engine maintenance, which is currently conducted at IAI's MRO.

P2F Aircraft Conversions
IAI’s aircraft conversion services represent a significant achievement in developing IAI's engineering expertise to enhance the lifecycle strategy further, and they are now evolving to meet modern market demands.
With a proven track record of converting hundreds of Boeing 737-300/-400/-700/-800,
747-100/-200/-400, and 767-200/-300 aircraft, IAI is preparing to launch new Passenger-to-Freighter conversion programs. 777-3000ERSF, which is expected to get Aviation Authorities approval into mass production phase immediately after STC granting. The A330-300 program is still in the works, and its approval is expected in the near future.
IAI provides customers with integrated MRO services during the conversion process, allowing seamless maintenance while transforming aircraft for cargo use.
Engine Trade and Lease - A New Frontier
Complementing its MRO and conversion operations, IAI’s Trading Unit has developed into a dynamic business division. Originally established to support engine overhaul customers, the Trading Unit now rents and sells engines, procures aircraft and engines for dismantling, and develops custom-defined engines to meet customer specifications. This new business resource enhances the flexibility of IAI’s portfolio and provides tailored solutions that go beyond standard maintenance packages. With a global network of relationships, the Trading Unit seizes new opportunities, offers cost-effective options, and optimizes asset utilization for operators.
By continuously investing in cutting-edge facilities, technology, and skilled personnel, IAI demonstrates its commitment to upholding high standards of reliability and responsiveness. These new initiatives—alongside decades of proven expertise—position IAI to address the evolving demands of the global aviation industry while ensuring that every customer benefits from a truly integrated, future-ready support system.
