1. Mobile Access Platform And Docking
Company: Semmco
Product: Semmco designs and manufactures a wide range of mobile access platform and docking solutions for airlines and MROs, enabling access to all areas of an aircraft in the hangar or on the line. Made largely of aluminum, most of Semmco’s products use a bolted and plated design concept, which it says results in a stronger product, requires little maintenance and is easily modified or repaired on site. In October, Semmco was acquired by HAKI Safety, an international industrial group focused on safety products and solutions. Semmco is expanding its product range, developing different platforms specifically for the commercial and military helicopter markets.

2. Custom Aircraft Stands
Company: S.A.F.E. Structure Designs
Product: S.A.F.E. Structure Designs engineers and manufactures customized stands for nearly every commercial aircraft type, including fixed and rotor wing models. The company is now moving into the military aircraft market with a focus on all service branches. In September, the U.S. Army issued an airworthiness memorandum for S.A.F.E.’s patented Boeing CH-47 Chinook extended range fuel system tank roller system. The 360-deg. roller pallet, designed with omnidirectional rollers, is capable of loading 500- and 800-gal. Robertson Fuel Systems tanks onto a CH-47 to support its extended range fuel system.

3. Preventing Hangar Rash
Company: Fyve By
Product: Fyve By is marketing its Sky View system as the only active enterprise scale hangar management system that offers real-time 3D visuals of the hangar with audio and visual warnings when an aircraft is close to potential collision hazards while being moved throughout a hangar. The system involves sensors installed in a hangar’s ceiling, which are then connected to a tablet via Wi-Fi. Sky View has been in development since 2020 and Fyve By expects patent approval by early 2025. Fyve By is targeting MROs, FBOs and corporate flight departments, and it expects to install the first 60 units in 2025, with increased installations starting in 2026.

4. Liftsafe Modular Stands And Ladders
Company: Factory Supply
Product: Factory Supply offers premium and custom aircraft maintenance stands and ladders, which it says can individually replace as many as seven ladders commonly used in a hangar. Constructed of durable aluminum, Factory Supply’s stands are equipped with built-in fall protection for mechanics working at heights of 13-20 ft. Along with their safety features, the stands feature modular, itemized parts, allowing replacement of individual components instead of a full stand, which Factory Supply says extends lifespan and lowers maintenance costs.
