GMR Aero Technic inked two deals with Lufthansa Technik and Spirit Aero Systems last week at the Wings India conference in Hyderabad.
It signed a memorandum of understanding with Lufthansa Technik (LHT) to implement its Cyclean engine wash technology at different airports across India. According to LHT, Cyclean is an eco-friendly engine cleaning system that not only saves water and fuel but also significantly reduces emissions. GMR says Cyclean enforces sustainability initiatives by ensuring clean and safe waste water collection without any negative impact on the environment.
GMR Aero Technic also signed a strategic partnership with Spirit AeroSystems to establish an aircraft nacelle component repair service at its base maintenance facility in Hyderabad. The partnership follows an agreement signed in February 2023, under which GMR became a Spirit authorized repair center.
According to Ashok Gopinath, president and accountable manager at GMR Aero Technic, the company intends to leverage innovative technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency for its MRO customers. “With these augmented capabilities, the strategic move will position our MRO facility as a go-to hub for customers,” he says.
