The Civil Aviation Administration of China has announced that Shanghai will stop serving as a first point of entry into China for international passenger flight to Beijing, to be replaced by Chengdu, Changsha, Hefei and Lanzhou and, as alternate, Wuhan. Passengers on international flights shall go through quarantine inspection and customs clearance formalities and claim baggage at these and other first points of entry.
India’s Director General Civil Aviation has issued a report on its investigation of an approach to under-construction runway incident in the Maldives involving an Interglobe Aviation Airbus A320. Among the report’s conclusions: flight documents handed over to the flight crew did not contain a vital document giving a pictorial representation of the under-construction runway and related facilities; flight crew did not adequately evaluate the aerodrome requirements as required; and inability of crew to positively identify the runway to which the aircraft was cleared to land during final approach was the cause of the incident.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2020-12-01 for certain Rolls-Royce Deutschland Trent XWB-75s, -79s, -79Bs and -84s, requiring initial and repetitive inspections of the low pressure compressor outlet guide vane outer mount ring assembly and, depending on the results of the inspections, possible replacement of this assembly, effective July 13, 2020.
FAA has issued special airworthiness information bulletin NM-20-11 advising operators of Boeing 777s of the potential for un-commanded auto-throttle advancement during ground operations.
FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2020-11-13 for all De Havilland Aircraft of Canada DHC-8-400s, requiring repetitive detailed inspections of the nacelle attachment fittings for cracks, a conductivity inspection of the nacelle attachment fittings, and replacement if necessary, and replacing the rear spar fitting and nacelle attaching structure with a new nacelle attachment fitting, effective July 14, 2020.
The press service of the Russian Ministry of Transport told reporters, “It is too early to talk about resuming international flights, this issue will become relevant after safe domestic air travel is ensured . . . We can talk about resuming international flights when we see results of the transport and tourism industry ensuring safe travel of Russians to vacation spots within our country.”
