Embraer is continuing the recent expansion of its global MRO facilities with a new service center in Fort Worth, Texas.
The airframer is investing $70 million in new MRO facilities at Perot Field Alliance Airport to support the growing E-Jet fleet. It will begin operations in an existing hangar at the airport by the second quarter of 2025 while constructing a new facility. Embraer expects the new hangar to be complete by 2027.
According to Embraer, the new facilities will increase its capacity to serve E-Jets customers by 53% in the U.S. It also expects to create approximately 250 new jobs there.
Embraer declined to disclose specific details on the Fort Worth service center's E-Jets capacity.
The Fort Worth MRO facility will join Embraer’s 12 other global service centers and its 80 authorized service centers. Embraer doubled its U.S. MRO capacity earlier this year by adding three executive aviation MRO facilities in Dallas, Texas; Cleveland, Ohio and Sanford, Florida.
In July, Embraer Services and Support President Carlos Naufel told Aviation Week Network that the company had reached a record $3.1 billion backlog this year. Last year, Embraer said its heavy maintenance facilities in the U.S. were nearly sold out through 2024, so it was eyeing expansion at its Nashville, Tennessee overhaul base. Embraer also operates a heavy-check shop in Macon, Georgia.
