Bell Delivers Global Medical Response’s First IFR-Configured Bell 407GXi

Global Medical Response received its first IFR-configured Bell 407GXi—the first of a 24-aircraft order with Bell Textron. According to Bell, the aircraft’s IFR capability and adjustable cabin space allows for enhanced versatility in air medical missions. “We are thankful to our long-standing relationship with Bell and their commitment to our critical health care work in communities across the country,” says Daniel Sweeza, national president of air operations for Global Medical Response. “The addition of the Bell 407GXi allows operators to perform in demanding environments while carrying essential medical equipment needed during emergency missions.”

Garmin Unveils GCO 14 Carbon Monoxide Detector

Garmin announced updates for its GTR 205 and GTR 205x slimline COMM radios, adding optional integrated audio panel capabilities. The upgrade allows for a four-place intercom, dual-COMM switching and COMM playback. The playback feature can record up to 150 seconds of radio transmissions, allowing pilots to browse audio clips to replay clearances or missed radio calls. Additionally, the device is Bluetooth-enabled, allowing for music streaming and can display song and artist info on the GTR 205 display.

Draco Aircraft Introduces Garmin G500 TXi Glass Cockpit And Avionics Suite To HyperSTOL

Draco Aircraft, a Polish-based aircraft company, announced the integration of Garmin’s avionics suite and G500 TXi glass cockpit for its “HyperSTOL” aircraft, dubbed Draco. According to Draco Aircraft, the 10.6 in. TXi flight displays feature a PFD/MFD with customizable Engine Indication System (EIS) data presentation—using 20% of the screen for critical engine parameters and the remaining 80% for essential flight information. “We are excited to present the new Garmin G500 TXi glass cockpit to our state-of-the-art turbine aircraft,” says Johannes von Thadden, Draco Aircraft CEO. “Since Mike Patey’s initial integration of the Garmin G3X Touch in 2018, this upgrade represents a significant step forward in our EASA/FAA certification journey, offering enhanced reliability, superior screen resolution and advanced features, making Draco even more attractive to our customers.”

Aero Club Catania Receives Two Tecnam P2008JC

Aero Club Catania announced the delivery of two Tecnam P2008JC aircraft, which will be used for ab-initio flight training. Canada, UK Approve Thomas Global Systems CRT Display Upgrades

Thomas Global Systems received supplemental type certification approvals from Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) and the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for its TFD-4000 and TFD-4100 LCD flight display upgrades for Bombardier Challenger 604, Gulfstream G100/G200, Dassault Falcon 2000/2000EX/50EX, Saab 2000 and MHI CRJ Series aircraft. According to Thomas Global Systems, the new devices act as a drop-in CRT-to-LCD display upgrade, helping extend the life of Collins Pro Line 4 flight decks. “Options for long-term operation and support of Pro Line 4 displays have been limited,” said Craig Elliott, vice president of business development. “There is still a lot of life left in Pro Line 4 flight decks, which has demonstrated success in achieving the mission needs of thousands of business and regional aircraft worldwide.”

Starlink Now Available For Cessna Citation X/X+

Textron Aviation announced the availability of Starlink high-speed internet for the Cessna Citation X and X+ following the FAA’s supplemental type certification (STC) for AeroMech. AeroMech’s STC allows for Citation X and X+ aircraft to use Starlink’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites for inflight Wi-Fi in major and remote areas. “Textron Aviation knows customers are after connectivity solutions which elevate their inflight experience and helps them achieve their mission,” says Brian Rohloffa, SVP, customer support. “Offering Starlink for the Cessna Citation X and X+ positions our customers to experience cutting-edge technology, providing them with one of the best possible inflight connectivity and aviation experiences available today.”

Hartzell Unveils New Falcon Series Composite Propeller

Hartzell Propeller announced the launch of Kestrel, its lightweight carbon fiber constant-speed prop—the first entry in its new Falcon composite propeller series. The propellers are specifically designed for aircraft equipped with Rotax 916 engines. The new propellers have received ASTM approval, with FAA certification expected later in 2025. “The Kestrel marks the first next-generation propeller for Rotax 916 engines, combining lightweight composite design with high performance aerodynamics,” says Hartzell President JJ Frigge. “It is tailored for the excellent backcountry and cross-country flying capabilities of the STOL Carbon Cub UL.”

Sama Aviation, a flight training school based in the UAE’s Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, received its first Diamond DA40 aircraft. Hartzell’s Tanis Preheat Systems Approved For Airbus H135

Hartzell Propeller was awarded STC approval for its Tanis Helicopter Preheat Systems for Airbus H135 helicopters. The company’s preheat product line is designed to extend the lifespan of critical driveline components, reduce torque oscillations and maximizes battery and starter life, according to Hartzell. “These Hartzell Propeller STCs for our Tanis brand preheat systems expand coverage for Airbus H135 helicopters,” said Hartzell Propeller President JJ Frigge.

ANAC Approves Commercial Operations Of Sprayhawk UAV In Brazil

The National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC) has approved Rotor Technologies’ Rotor R550 Sprayhawk unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for civilian use in agricultural operations. According to Rotor Technologies, the Sprayhawk is an unmanned variant of the Robinson R44 helicopter, featuring a maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) of 2,500 lbs. and spray capacity of over 110 gal. ANAC’s approval allows for operations in visual line-of-sight (VLOS) and extended visual line-of-sight (EVLOS) conditions and an operational ceiling of 400 ft. “ANAC’s support for advanced unmanned aircraft like the Sprayhawk reinforces its role as innovative and visionary regulatory agency,” said Rotor CEO Hector Xu. “Unmanned and autonomous technology will keep pilots safe while stimulating Brazil’s innovation ecosystem, promoting job creation and strengthening its agricultural industry.”

Diamond Aircraft, Austro Engine Enter Partnership With Airways Aviation Group

Diamond Aircraft and Austro Engine are expanding their engine service capabilities through the appointment of Airways Aviation Group, the largest owner-operator of Diamond Aircraft in Europe, they say. The agreement was finalized during Pilot Expo 2025 in Brussels and designates Airways Aviation Italy and Airways Aviation Australia as Diamond Aircraft and Austro Engine Gold Service Centers. Previously, Airways Aviation ESMA in France became a Gold Diamond Service Center in December 2024. “Our relationship has grown year-after-year, underpinned by our shared dedication to quality, safety and innovation,” says Airways Aviation Group Founder and Chairman Romy Hawatt. “By strengthening our maintenance and engineering capabilities in Europe and Australia, we can continue to deliver the highest standards of service to our global customer base, whether that is training the next generations of pilots or supporting third-party aircraft owners.”

ANA Holdings Orders 15 Aircraft From Embraer

ANA Holdings has ordered 15 E190-E2 aircraft from Embraer, with options for five additional units. The order, made as part of ANA’s fleet renewal plan, will see deliveries begin in 2028. According to Embraer, ANA’s incoming E190-E2 aircraft will serve as the first next-generation E-Jets to operate in Japan.

Yingling Aviation Performs First Starlink Installation On Bombardier Global

Yingling Aviation announced the completion of its first Starlink installation on a Bombardier Global aircraft. The installation was performed at Yingling’s facility in Wichita. “My Principal needs to be connected 24/7 with his business. Cost was a huge driver, and we decided to go with this new player in connectivity, Starlink,” says Yingling’s Director of Aviation Mike Carney. “The unlimited Wi-Fi with no contract and month-to-month flexibility was a major factor. The app is very user-friendly and allows you to track usage.” According to Carney, the first test flight was successfully completed, with 10 users streaming content simultaneously with speeds up to 290 Mbps in flight.

Oriens Aviation Marks 10 Years Of Operations

Oriens Aviation is celebrating its 10th year of operations, following its recent facility expansion at its headquarters at London-Biggin Hill Airport. The company is expecting the arrival of an additional Pilatus PC-12 aircraft to its Air Operator’s Certificate for use in ambulance missions. According to Oriens, the company also plans to add its first Pilatus PC-24 to its charter operation, joining its Part-NCC Hondajet. Over the decade, Oriens has completed nearly 70 aircraft sales transactions, nearly 100,000 man-hours of aircraft maintenance and averages four AOG requests each month. “We will be looking to help our customers, suppliers and employees achieve more,” says Oriens CEO Edwin Brenninkmeyer. “We strive to be the first aviation service provider the UK general aviation industry think of, whether they require help with sales, maintenance or operations support.”

Diamond Aircraft Delivers Special Mission Aircraft To United ATS

Diamond Aircraft announced the delivery of a DA62 multi-purpose platform (MPP) special mission aircraft to United ATS, an aviation services provider in the Middle East and Africa. According to Diamond, the aircraft is equipped with Leica CityMapper-2 and Airfield Technology AT-940 for survey applications and flight inspection missions, respectively. “The acquisition of the DA62 MPP marks a significant milestone for United ATS,” says United ATS CEO Reda Youssef. “This advanced aircraft, with its cutting-edge technology, will significantly enhance our capabilities in both aerial surveying and flight inspection. Duncan Aviation Unveils Custom Design On Bombardier Global Express

Duncan Aviation unveiled its recently completed custom paint scheme on a Bombardier Global Express (GLEX) at its facility in Lincoln, Nebraska. The customization, which features a unique topographic map design on the aircraft’s tail, was created by Duncan Aviation Designer Jaime Blanken, in partnership with interior designers from Alicia Cheung Design and Eva Bradely Studio. “This project went smoothly thanks to the collaborative efforts of the paint, layout and detail teams,” says Paint Team Lead Cody Hasse. “The outstanding support from airframe was also instrumental in our success. By efficiently removing panels as needed and allowing additional time with the aircraft, they enabled us to deliver a product that exceeded expectations.”

Poland-Based Smart Aviation To Add Eight Aircraft To Fleet

Smart Aviation announced its agreement with Tecnam for the purchase of five additional Tecnam P2008JC aircraft for use in ab-initio training. The flight school, based in Poznan, Poland, currently operates a fleet of 14 Tecnam aircraft. According to Tecnam, the order also includes three P2006T NGs. All eight incoming aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 2025. “Investment in new aircraft is necessary to provide students with the highest quality training and to meet the needs of the aviation market,” says Smart Aviation CEO Mateusz Dzialynski. “The demand for pilots continues to grow, so it’s a huge responsibility to provide well-trained professionals who meet the highest standards.”

UK-based Flight School Orders 14 Tecnam P-Mentor Aircraft

Aeros, a UK-based flight school, entered an agreement with Tecnam and Oriens Aviation for the purchase of 14 Tecnam P-Mentor IFR single-engine aircraft. According to Tecnam, the first six units will be delivered during 2025 and will be used for ab-initio and modular training for private pilot license (PPL) and multi-pilot license (MPL) courses. According to Aeros CEO Nick Dunn, the school gathered a team of senior engineers, managers and instructors to evaluate options for two-seater trainer aircraft, ultimately selecting Tecnam’s P-Mentor for quality, cost and after sales service. “We are very pleased that after much research, Aeros has chosen the Tecnam P-Mentor as the training platform to conduct flight training,” says Pasquale De Rosa, Tecnam sales manager for Europe. “This decision underscores their commitment to providing student pilots with the most advanced, safe and efficient training aircraft available today.”

C&L Aviation Group Installs Starlink On Embraer ERJ 140

C&L Aviation Services has completed the installation of SpaceX’s Starlink inflight connectivity (IFC) system on an Embraer ERJ 140 aircraft. The installation, performed in partnership with Aerospace Design & Compliance LLC, was used to amend its existing ERJ 135/145 supplemental type certificate (STC) to include compatibility for the ERJ 140. “Developing this STC and installing Starlink on ERJ aircraft points C&L in the right direction for future connectivity support,” says Charlie Carrol, avionics sales manager for C&L Aviation Services. “Starlink is gaining traction in the aviation world, and we at C&L look forward to growing our relationship with them.”

Air Charter Service Surpasses 30,000 Flights In One Year

Air Charter Service (ACS) announced its completion of more than 30,000 flights in a single year for the first time in its nearly 35-year history. According to ACS Founder and Chairman Chris Leach, the company arranged 30,290 flights in 2024—averaging one flight every 17 and a half minutes. “The sheer diversity of what we flew and where we flew every year is also remarkable,” Leach says. “Flights arranged by us were an integral part of evacuations and relief missions, helped international super stars complete world tours and even relocated 39 rhinos for a crucial conservation project. Over those 30,290 flights, we used more than 1,400 airlines, and I’d like to thank them all, for supporting our business and helping us charter aircraft to more than 200 countries in 2024.”
