Comlux officially opened a maintenance facility at Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) that will serve as its regional headquarters.
It started building it two years ago and hosted the grand opening on Dec. 10.
Comlux did not disclose its investment in the facility.
The 20,000 m2 facility at the Mohammed bin Rachid Aerospace Hub at DWC includes a 5,000 m2 air conditioned hangar that can simultaneously house two Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ), two Boeing Business Jets (BBJ) or a variety of smaller jets.
Comlux is an authorized service center for both the ACJ and BBJ.
The facility will focus on light maintenance, AOG services, cabin detailing and short-term hangarage. Comlux says it is not intended for long-term aircraft storage.
The facility also includes an adjacent 2,500 m2 facility that includes parts storage and workshops, offices, a design showroom that features as an Airbus ACJ TwoTwenty aircraft and VIP area.
While the grand opening was held Dec. 10, Comlux Middle East & Africa actually opened several weeks ago and already has performed a maintenance check on the world’s first Airbus ACJ TwoTwenty aircraft.
Comlux Completion in Indianapolis is Airbus’ exclusive completions partner for the first 17 ACJ TwoTwenty aircraft.
Comlux is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland and also operates facilities in Aruba, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Malta and the U.S. (Indianapolis).
When asked whether Comlux plans to open any other facilities, a company representative says “if a need for more facilities arise, we will carefully consider every opportunity.”
