
Australia: Reunion Island debris 'consistent with analysis' of MH370 resting place
The Australian government has issued a statement on the discovery of debris on Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean July 29 and which is being examined to determine whether it comes from missing Malaysia Airlines MH370, a Boeing 777-200. The debris, measuring about 2 meters, appears similar to the wing flap of a large commercial airliner.

Aircraft debris found in French Indian Ocean

The two-metre-long debris, which appears to be a piece of a wing, was found by employees of an association cleaning the area and handed over to the air transport brigade of the French gendarmerie (BGTA), who have opened an investigation. An air safety expert did not exclude it could be a part of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, which went missing in the Indian Ocean on March 8, 2014.

Air Canada takes delivery of first 787-9
Air Canada took delivery of its first Boeing 787-9, a larger version of the Dreamliner 787-8. First designated routes for the 787-9 are nonstop services from Toronto to Delhi beginning Nov. 1 and to Dubai beginning Nov. 3. Canadian flag carrier took delivery of its first Dreamliner in May 2014 and will receive a total of 29 new 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft by 2019, in addition to eight 787-8 aircraft already in operation.

Vietnam Airways' first 787-9 soars near the Washington Monument
Vietnam Airlines’ first Boeing 787-9 soars near the Washington Monument on its way to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport at an event that included H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam. At the event, the two companies also signed a memorandum of collaboration toward the goal of Vietnam Airlines' fleet replacement and expansion. Boeing has offered the airline eight 787-10 Dreamliners and eight 777-8Xs, which the airline acknowledged. Boeing and Vietnam Airlines will work together and report to government authorities before coming to official cooperation agreements in the future.
