A new intercontinental route from MRS : Shanghai

MRS Airport has welcomed the first commercial flight from Shanghai last July 2nd. China Eastern Airlines (a member of the SkyTeam alliance) is opening a direct route between Shanghai and Marseille from July 2, with 3 weekly flights on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flights will be operated by Shanghai Airlines using the latest-generation Boeing Dreamliner 787/900.

Growth at NUE: Marabu will station three aircraft at the airport in S25

In S25, marabu will base 3 aircraft in NUE and offer 50 weekly flights to 14 destinations. This comes as an increase compared to the seasonal base in winter. Four new destinations will also be added to the program.

Air Greenland reconnects to Canada with broader ambitions

The route previously was operated by Air Greenland from 2012-2014. That was driven, according to company Chairman Malik Olsen, by the mineral and oil industries. “There was a boom in this exploration in Greenland and when that went down, then the customer base went down,” he explained in an interview on the eastbound segment of the inaugural trip. “We’re trying to aim a bit broader now.”

Wizz Air reaches 8 million passengers at Larnaka Airport

Wizz Air highlighted that, in order to meet growing demand, it continues to expand its route network from Larnaka International Airport, including increased flights for the summer and autumn seasons of the current year, as recently announced.

Record breaking June at Bratislava Airport

Bratislava airport processed a record 246,000 travellers in June, an increase of 14 percent year-on-year. According to general manager Dusan Novota, the airport has managed to process more than 200,000 passengers in June only seven times since its opening in 1951, and this June exceeded all previous records.

Almost twelve million passengers travelled via BER in the first half of the year

Passenger numbers at Berlin Brandenburg Airport continued to rise in the first half of 2024. From January to June 2024, 11.8 million passengers flew to and from BER. This is twelve per cent more than in the same period last year. The number of aircraft movements rose by 11.7 per cent compared to the same period of the previous year to around 87,000 take-offs and landings.
