Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens has dismissed Hartsfield-Atlanta International Airport (ATL) General Manager Balram Bheodari, appointing an interim head of the world’s busiest passenger airport.
The move is part of a number of changes Dickens has made to top city posts. Jan Lennon will take over the post on July 1 from Bheodari, who will stay in the job through June.
Lennon is currently ATL’s deputy general manager of operations. Dickens said he will conduct an executive search to find ATL’s new permantent general manager.
Bheodari has held the top spot at ATL since 2021.
The mayor said Bheodari “played a critical role leading the airport's successful recovery from numerous challenging events over the years,” including the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dickens thanked Bheodari “for his hard work leading the world’s busiest passenger airport.”
