The CEO of Bangkok Airways has said the airline is in talks with OEMs for up to 30 new aircraft to enable fleet renewal and support growth.

Bangkok Airways is set to spend $69 million to expand Koh Samui (USM) and Trat (TDX) airports, both wholly owned entities of the regional airline.

Scoot will be the first carrier in Southeast Asia to operate the Embraer E2 family.

The resumption comes as Thailand progressively reopens to international visitors despite a surge in COVID-19 cases.

Thai authorities are trying to curb the latest outbreak of COVID-19.
