Arkia Israeli Airlines is aiming to challenge El Al Israel Airlines’ dominance on the route amid the continued suspension of Israel flights by U.S. carriers.
Israeli charter operator Israir has already applied for a number of slots between TLV and AUH and, according to Israeli media, leisure carrier Arkia also plans flights to DXB from Jan. 3, 2021.
The aircraft will help Arkia to expand its growing operations into long-haul business and leisure markets and will operate alongside the four A321neo aircraft ordered by the carrier at the Farnborough International Airshow in 2012.
