In the aftermath of a devastating fire onboard an Airbus A321 at Busan International Airport, South Korea has introduced new rules around portable batteries.

A fire broke out on an Air Busan Airbus A321 leased from AerCap while at the gate at South Korea's Busan Gimhae International Airport on Jan. 28.

The combined LCC would be one result of the planned Asiana-Korean Air merger.

Routes details the latest new route announcements, as well as the services returning to carriers’ networks.

Korean Air believes its takeover of Asiana Airlines will lead to network expansion and increase the carrier’s overall competitiveness.

In its documentation filed with the US DOT, Air Busan said it “might in the future offer service with other airplanes from its fleet, adjust its proposed service patterns, and introduce service to other points in the United States, including Hawaii and the US mainland”.
