The US and UK governments are being urged to launch a testing trial for passenger flights between New York and London to speed the return of transatlantic routes and capacity.
Carriers on both sides of the Atlantic are assessing the potential impact of the temporary travel restrictions to the US from more than two-dozen European countries in response to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.
US airlines are projected to carry more than 50 million passengers over the winter holiday travel period, with 91,000 additional seats per day on offer.
