Inquiries for PW1100 types of stands have increased in recent years and ES24 plans to provide them through its new Singapore hub.
SINGAPORE—Magnetic Group subsidiary EngineStands24 (ES24) is launching Pratt and Whitney PW1100 engine stands in the Asia-Pacific region, in response to market demand.
“The current engine stand market state has been affected by PW1100G-powered engines requiring checks and, hence, a lot of them are or will be out of service between now and 2026,” says Daiva Zemaite, head of ES24. “It’s important to note that more than half of these A320neo engines reside in the APAC region.”
The number of inquiries for PW1100 types of stands has increased by a factor of nine when compared with 2022, Zemaite tells Aviation Week. The stand line will be provided through its new Singapore hub, which ES24 opened in September 2023 in partnership with local logistics company TALA Singapore Powered by Global Airfreight Int’l Pte Ltd.
“To adapt to the ever-increasing need for PW1100 stands, we allocated them to our recently opened hub in Singapore,” Zemaite says. “Consequently, their lead times . . . can be as efficient as possible.”
Pratt & Whitney parent company RTX has projected the number of grounded Airbus A320neos to peak in the first quarter of 2024, while continuing to forecast an average of 350 aircraft on the ground for the GTF-powered fleet from 2024 through 2026.
