Textron Latitude/Longitude To Get New Avionics; 400th Latitude Rolls Out
GENEVA—Textron Aviation’s Citation Latitude midsize jet and Citation Longitude super-midsize jet will receive enhancements to their Garmin G5000 flight deck with new features and technology from Garmin. The changes will be available in 2025 on the Citation Latitude and in 2026 for the Citation Longitude.
“They’re all nice upgrade features for pilots and owners and operators,” Lannie O’Bannion, Textron Aviation senior vice president of global sales and flight operations, said at the company’s static display during the European Business Aviation Association Convention & Exhibition (EBACE 2024).
The enhancements include the Synthetic Vision Guidance System shown on the primary flight displays, coupling with Synthetic Vision Technology to support approach minimums as low as 150 ft. The vision guidance system provides a geospatially correct depiction of the external scene topography, including obstacles, which are augmented by the display of the runway, Textron Aviation says.
Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT) enhancements include a 3D view of the SafeTaxi airport environment to aid situational awareness while taxiing. It also includes displays of 3D building footprints including hangars, terminals, towers, taxiways, aprons, signs and other items to help reduce runway incursions.
In addition, SVT provides multiple viewpoints and integrates with a new Taxiway Routing feature for clarity during ground operations.

Textron Aviation also is celebrating the rollout of its 400th production Citation Latitude at its Wichita factory. The midsize aircraft was certified in 2015. The 400th Latitude will be delivered to a customer this year. The aircraft has a range of 2,700 nm and is manufactured using automatic robotics, monolithic machined structures and ergonomically friendly vertical tooling stations.
