StandardAero To Support Icelandic LCC's Leap 1A MRO
StandardAero has signed an agreement with Icelandic low-cost carrier Play to deliver CFM International Leap 1A performance restoration shop visit services for its fleet of Airbus A320neo aircraft. Contracted services will include maintenance, repair, work scoping, engine testing, program management, component repair, lease engine support and module swaps.
GE, Emirates Sign 10-Year 777 Deal
GE Aerospace and Emirates have entered into a 10-year services agreement focusing on the electrical load management system for its Boeing 777 aircraft fleet. The multi-million dollar agreement is supported by GE Aerospace’s operations in Cheltenham, UK. Emirates is the world's largest operator of the 777 with a fleet 143 of the widebody aircraft.

LOT, Embraer Pen E195-E2 Parts Pool Program
LOT Polish Airlines has signed an agreement with Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer for parts pooling services for three Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. Under the terms of the agreement, Embraer will provide technical and parts support for the three aircraft, which were recently leased from Azorra.

Fokker Services Group Partners With Egyptian Cargo Carrier
Fokker Services Group has entered into an agreement with Egyptian cargo airline Airmaster to provide nose-to-tail services for its Boeing 737NG aircraft. The agreement provides component support for Airmaster's Boeing 737-800F aircraft and will see Netherlands-based Fokker provide various critical components, including engine accessories, hydraulic actuators, valves, cockpit controls and instruments.
Joramco, SmartLynx Extend MRO Checks In Amman
Joramco has extended its maintenance partnership with Latvia-based ACMI carrier SmartLynx for the winter 2024/25 season. The renewed agreement will see Joramco conduct 28 checks covering Airbus A330, A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft.

LHT Lands KM Malta Airlines Leap Deal
Lufthansa Technik (LHT) has signed a long-term agreement with KM Malta Airlines to provide repair and overhaul of CFM International Leap 1A engines that power the Maltese carrier’s Airbus A320neo fleet. LHT has already started performing two quick turns for the airline’s Leap 1A engines from its Hamburg facility.
Tarmac Aerosave Signs A380 Recycling Contract
Tarmac Aerosave has signed a contract with asset management company EastMerchant Capital to dismantle and recycle three Airbus A380s at its site in Tarbes, France. Sales and distribution of the parts will be managed by used serviceable material supplier Skyline Aero.

Liebherr Picks AEM/Ametek MRO For E-Jets Landing Gear Services
AEM/Ametek MRO has signed an agreement with Liebherr-Aerospace to provide landing gear MRO services to Embraer E-Jet E1 operators in the EMEA region for E190 aircraft. AEM will be providing services from its Ramsgate, UK facility.

IAI Gets Leap 1B FAA Certification
Israel Aerospace Industries has received FAA certification to perform quick turn-level maintenance for CFM International Leap 1B engines. The company is in the process of receiving final certification for the Leap 1B from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency.
FAI Technik Gets Nigerian Maintenance Approval
German MRO FAI Technik has received an approved maintenance organization certificate from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, enabling it to undertake MRO services on Nigerian-registered business aviation aircraft.

Broward Aviation Services Opens Shannon Stock Hub
Aircraft parts provider Broward Aviation Services has opened a new stock hub in Shannon, Ireland that it says will streamline its European expansion. The facility will be a commercial hub focused on sales, customer support and AOGs, holding a stock inventory that Broward values at $15 million. The company says it is also investing heavily in Boeing 737 inventory to hold at its Shannon and U.S. facilities.
EFW Gets ANAC Certification For A321P2F
Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) has validated Elbe Flugzeugwerke’s (EFW) supplemental type certification for its Airbus A321 passenger-to-freighter conversion (A321P2F). The certification comes alongside EFW’s redelivery of a completed freighter to AerCap for leasing to Azul Cargo, which will be the first A321P2F to be operated in South America.

KLM E&M Leadership Change
AFI KLM E&M has announced that KLM Engineering & Maintenance Executive Vice President Ton Dortmans will retire in summer 2025 after a 40-year career with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. He will be succeeded by Mathieu Essenberg, executive vice president of hub operations in charge of ground services, on Jan. 1, 2025. Essenberg has held various roles at KLM since 2002, including overseeing aircraft maintenance for KLM’s fleet and serving as a pilot for 20 years.
Fokker Services Group Signs Red Sea Airlines Component Deal
Fokker Services Group has signed a component support contract with Egyptian carrier Red Sea Airlines covering its two Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Under the deal, FSG will service a range of components including integrated drive generators, engine accessories, hydraulic actuators, valves, cockpit controls and instruments.

TDA Acquires Ex-EasyJet A319 For Teardown
Touchdown Aviation (TDA) has acquired an Airbus A319 aircraft for part-out with the teardown underway at Willis Aviation Services' base at Teesside International Airport in the UK. The 18-year-old aircraft was operated by low cost airline easyJet for the entirity of is life before being retired from service one year ago.

APOC Aviation Secures Deutsche Bank Funding
APOC Aviation has obtained a multi-million dollar flexible funding facility with Deutsche Bank, which it plans to use to expand its business portfolio. According to CEO Gavin Simmonds, APOC will deploy $140 million in the next 12 months to capitalize on opportunities the company has identified for expansion, including “different stratum for trading, stocking and leasing aircraft assets.”
Aero Norway Names New Leap Program Manager
CFM56 engine repair specialist Aero Norway has appointed Kenneth Johnston to oversee the integration of capabilities for the CFM International Leap engine program. Johnston, who will be the Stavanger-based company's Leap Program Manager, will oversee the readiness for Leap engine repairs, which will include Leap 1A and 1B variants. Aero Norway obtained the first set of 1A and 1B licenses to commence Leap engine inspections earlier this year. A 28-year industry veteran, Johnston has been at Aero Norway since 2017 and was previously its customer support manager.

Challenge Group Completes Two 767 P2F Conversions
Challenge Group has completed two Boeing 767-300BDSF passenger-to-freighter conversions, bringing its total cargo fleet to 10 aircraft. The company says the additional freighters have enabled it to launch new service to Delhi and increase service frequency to Mumbai.
AFI KLM E&M Lands TAAG Angola Component Deal
TAAG Angola Airlines has signed a five-year contract with AFI KLM E&M covering pool and repair component support, as well as a Main Base Kit for the airline’s fleet of five Boeing 777-300s and three 777-200s. It is the first exclusive component support agreement between the companies.

Swiss-AS, Aeroxchange Release Data Collaboration
Swiss-AS and Aeroxchange have launched a new electronic data interchange (EDI) interface between their respective digital systems. The EDI interface enables digital exchange of repair orders via Aeroxchange’s AeroRepair platform for operators that use AMOS MRO software.
Philippine Airlines Taps LHT For Nacelle Support
Philippine Airlines has signed an airframe related components services contracts for Airbus A321ceo nacelles with Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen. Under the deal, the China-based Lufthansa Technik subsidiary will provide MRO and spare unit support for IAE V2500 engine inlet cowlings.

VietJet Implements Aviatar eTLB
VietJet has implemented Lufthansa Technik’s Aviatar electronic Technical Logbook (eTLB) on its Airbus A320/A321 and A330 aircraft. The digital tool replaces manual and paper-based processes for capturing technical issues in-flight and on the ground. VietJet is the first customer in the Asia-Pacific region to use Aviatar eTLB.
Enter Air’s Hungary Hangar Gets Certification
Polish carrier Enter Air has received a technical maintenance organization certificate for its hangar in Debreczyn, Hungary. The certification will enable it to operate maintenance services there.

MRO Software Specialist Enters AI Partnership
MRO software specialist OASES has confirmed a partnership with artificial intelligence (AI) specialist KeepFlying which will aim to develop and deliver AI-driven solutions for OASES' customer base. The collaboration will see KeepFlying's AI technology integrated with OASES' MRO platform. The integration will focus on AI-driven CAMO (continuing airworthiness management organisation) and technical records functionality, bid-to-cash MRO workflows, engine asset management and inventory and supply chain optimization.

Indonesian MRO GMF AeroAsia has completed a maintenance check on a Asiana Airlines operated Boeing 747-400 aircrat. The project is its first for the South Korea-based airline

JCB Aero Expands MRO Capacity In France
JCB Aero has reopened its refurbished maintenance hangar in Auch, France. The facility can now accommodate up to three narrowbody Airbus or Boeing aircraft simultaneously. To coincide with the expansion, JCB Aero plans to grow its workforce in Auch to between 20 and 30 additional employees in the near future.
Broward Aviation Services Acquires Boeing 737-700 For Teardown
Broward Aviation Service has acquired a Boeing 737-700 from Aero Capital Solutions, which is being disassembled in Marana, Arizona. Disassembly is scheduled for completion in early November and the aircraft’s assets will be repaired and placed in stock at Broward’s hubs in the U.S. and its new facility in Shannon, Ireland.

3TOP Acquires Airbus A318s For Teardown
UK-based aircraft repairs and spares provider 3TOP Aviation Services has acquired two Airbus A318-111 aircraft formerly operated by Romanian carrier TAROM. Ecube will dismantle the airframes and the material will be added to 3TOP’s inventory, while the engines will be added to its trading and leasing pool.

RH Aero Systems Confirms New President
RH Aero Systems, the new entity created after Rhinestahl acquired German tooling specialist Hydro Systems in May 2024, has announced Anthony Turner as its new President. Turner was previously the Rhinestahl's Chief Commercial Officer.
Apollo To Acquire Barnes Group
Apollo Global Management has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Barnes Group in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $3.6 billion. The deal is expected to close before the end of the first quarter in 2025. Barnes Group’s aerospace businesses include services and spare parts for aircraft engines, as well as component and assemblies manufacturing for engines, nacelles and airframes.

ATS Technic Plans New Dubai South Hangar Project
United Arab Emirates-based ATS Technic has launched a base maintenance hangar project at Al Maktoum International Airport at Dubai South. The hangar—which will offer European Union Aviation Safety Agency Part 145 approved maintenance services, specialized cabin upgrades and tailored refurbishment solutions for commercial aircraft—is scheduled for completion by mid-2025.
Indian MRO To Offer Cyclean Engine Services
GMR Aero Technic will partner with Lufthansa Technik to conduct the German MRO's Cyclean Engine Wash services in India. The offering is expected to be online during Q4 2024 which will see GMR have capability for engine core wash services from Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore.

Emirates Engineering Plans Solar Energy System
Emirates plans to install nearly 40,000 solar panels at its Emirates Engineering Center in Dubai, which it says will provide 37% of the facility’s annual energy consumption and significantly reduce CO2 emissions. It signed a 20-year agreement with Etihad Clean Energy Development covering 20 years of operation and maintenance services for the solar energy system.
LATAM Plans More AeroSHARK Modifications
LATAM has chosen to install Lufthansa Technik’s AeroSHARK drag-reducing technology on four more Boeing 777s after it has seen positive results from testing it on a modified aircraft since December 2023. LATAM is the first airline in the Americas region to adopt AeroSHARK.

AJW Group Expands Modern Logistics Contract
AJW Group has expanded its power-by-the-hour contract with Brazilian cargo operator Modern Logistics. The new agreement extends the companies’ original agreement covering Boeing 737CL freighters, signed in 2017, to include Modern Logistics’ new fleet of Boeing 737-800s.
