
On-Site MRO Capabilities
GMR Aero Technic operates its MRO facility close to Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. On site, it has capacity for nine narrowbody maintenance lines capable of handling Airbus A320 family, Boeing 737NG and MAX, ATR 42/72 and De Havilland Canada Dash 8 aircraft.

Airframe MRO Activities
From Hyderabad, GMR Aero Technic provides base maintenance and line maintenance services, and in addition, offers parking and preservation of aircraft.

OEM Partnerships
In recent years, GMR Aero Technic has signed several agreements with prominent aerospace OEMs. These include an agreement with Boeing for 737 passenger-to-freighter conversions, Spirit AeroSystems for nacelles, radomes and flight control surfaces for all narrowbody aircraft types, and earlier this year, a deal with Lufthansa Technik to undertake engine washes.

PTF Conversion Agreement
Upon signing the passenger-to-freighter (PTF) agreement with Boeing last year, GMR Aero Technic became the fourth Boeing-approved facility globally in the airframe manufacturer's PTF network. Under the terms of the contract, the Indian MRO will conduct PTF services on 737-800 aircraft. The partnership supports both domestic and foreign aircraft.

Line Maintenance Activities
GMR Aero Technic has a network of international and domestic airline customers for line maintenance services at 14 airports in India and one across the border in Nepal.

GMR Regulatory Approvals
GMR Aero Technic holds 29 approvals from various regulators, including India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency and the FAA. It provides heavy maintenance checks, major structural repairs, end-of-lease checks, entry-into-service and full livery painting.

Specialist Repair Functions
GMR Aero Technic holds expertise in performing structural repairs such as skin panel replacement, pickle fork replacement, windshield frame replacement, custom fabrication of floor panels and sidewalls, plating and metal protection.

Seat Repair Shop Capabilities
The seat shop has the capability to perform I.R.A.N (Inspect and Repair as Necessary), rectification and refurbishment of aircraft seats, including plastics parts, structural parts, cushions and meal tables.

Repair Workshops
GMR Aero Technic's hangars are supported by various workshops, including non-destructive testing, a composite workshop, a welding workshop, a machine shop, a battery shop, a heat treatment workshop, a galley shop, a seat cabin and upholstery workshop, and a calibration lab.

Aircraft Painting
GMR Aero Technic's facility also delivers aircraft livery painting services. The paint hangar can accommodate Boeing 737, Airbus A320 and ATR manufactured aircraft. To date, GMR says it has delivered several "highly complex" livery paintings for operators.
