C&L Aerospace, a Bangor, Maine-based service and maintenance provider for corporate and regional aircraft, has opened a 20,000 ft.² parts warehouse in Leipzig, Germany.
The location was chosen to provide the most convenient shipping hub to Europe and beyond, the company says. C&L will store aircraft parts inventories there for the ATR 42/72, ERJ 145, E170/190, Saab 340 and other aircraft. The addition will help the company to better support customers in the European Union and Northern Africa, says Chris Kilgour, C&L Aviation Group CEO.
“We are increasingly purchasing aircraft and inventories in Europe, and it makes sense to utilize those parts in the local market rather than move them to one of our other warehouses,” Kilgour says. “Inventories kept here are in high demand and this warehouse investment reinforces our commitment to operators as their strategic supply partner.” The move also provides more favorable shipping rates and times for the operators, he says.
The addition is part of a larger expansion plan to get parts closer to its customer base. Earlier in 2024, C&L announced the opening of a warehouse in Wichita, Kansas. The company also plans to open an additional warehouse facility in South Africa in spring 2024. C&L currently has warehouses in Australia, England, Scotland, and the U.S.
