The 2024 AirVenture evening show featured a 600-drone aerobatics display and dozens of fireworks. Starlight Aerial Productions, based in Michigan, brought the drone show to AirVenture. It most recently filled the night sky that celebrated the NFL Detroit Lions’ appearance at the NFC Championship game.

The AirVenture drone performance included Lumenier Arora drones equipped with LED lights that can create what Starlight says is more than 4 billion color combinations and animated sequences synchronized to music. The drones are made in the U.S.

Fireworks accompany a drone display of an airplane. Starlight’s parent company, Great Lakes Drone Co., initially appeared at AirVenture in 2018, but featuring earlier technology. Today, the drones are more efficient and are capable of more complex formations, organizers say.
