Bombardier plans to open a 120,000 ft.2 service facility at Al Bateen Executive Airport in Abu Dhabi to serve as a hub for Bombardier business aircraft in the Middle East.
Construction is slated to begin in the first half of 2025 with completion expected in the second half of 2026. The facility will include a 55,000 ft.2 hangar and parts department and offer scheduled and unscheduled heavy maintenance, aircraft modifications and aircraft on ground (AOG) capabilities. It also will accommodate aircraft as large as Bombardier’s Global 7500 and Global 8000.
Bombardier originally had planned to open the facility at Abu Dhabi International Airport but had decided to relocate to align with the needs of its customers, the company says.
At full capacity, the service center is expected to employ about 100.
“We are thrilled to announce the new location of our Abu Dhabi Service facility at the dynamic Al Bateen Executive Airport in Abu Dhabi,” says Paul Sislian, Bombardier executive vice president of aftermarket services and strategy. “This location is strategically aligned with all our aftermarket priorities and perfectly matches the needs of our discerning customer base.”
