DUBAI—The VVIP business aviation market is rapidly evolving, driven by advancing technology and shifting expectations, as discussed during a BizAv Talks panel on “Anticipated Future Trends” at the Middle East Business Aviation Association (MEBAA) show in Dubai.

RoyalJet CEO Syed Shafiul pointed to onboard connectivity as a cornerstone, with LEO satellites providing faster, more affordable internet via LEO satellites poised to enhance in-flight experiences. “Catering to diverse generational needs—ranging from high-speed streaming to gaming—underscores the growing demand for robust connectivity,” Shafiul said.

Elsewhere, panelists emphasized the Middle East’s preference for lager, high-performance jets, a hallmark of its mature market. Andrea Zanetto, Comlux CEO, pointed to the ACJ TwoTwenty as a transformative option, offering customizable, luxurious interiors designed to cater to families and executives seeking “luxury homes” in the sky.

Panelists remarked how emerging technologies, including AI, are reshaping transformative opportunities for personalized interiors, although certification in a regulated industry remains a hurdle.

Eugen Hartl, managing director of EH Aviation Advisors, identified lengthy delivery timelines—up to four years—as another challenge, stressing the need for better collaboration between OEMs, design organizations, and completion centers to meet safety, quality, and speed expectations.

For Boeing Business Jets marketing director, Oren Katzen, there has been a shift in priorities toward interior functionality over extended range, with engaging in-cabin experiences becoming key.

Additionally, financial asset value and resale potential are growing concerns for BBJ owners. Panelists agreed that strategic diversification and effective risk management are critical to navigating the unique demands of this discerning clientele.
