Dokia Air, a new private air charter provider in Romania, has become the first operator of a new Falcon jet in the country.

As such, it will act as a brand ambassador for Dassault Aviation in the region, Dassault says.

The charter company has placed a new Dassault Falcon 2000LXS into service for business jet operations to local and regional customers. The aircraft is based in Bucharest.

“This is a big step up for Romanian charter, with a modern, highly capable and very comfortable business jet,” says Florin Susanu, Dokia Air CEO. “The Falcon 2000LXS is the first factory-new aircraft in the country. Its optimized design, reliability, short-field capability, as well as low operating costs, are much appreciated by operators and customers.”

Susanu is a former Romanian Air Force pilot and former director of flight operations for national carrier Tarom and flew Romania’s head-of-state aircraft.

The Falcon 2000LXS has a 4,000 nm range and was designed to hold 8-10 passengers. It is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW308C engines and is equipped with Avionics EASy II flight deck with the Honeywell Primus Epic System. The aircraft can connect all major European city-pairs and routes to the Middle East and North Africa nonstop, the company notes. From Nice, France, it can reach the east coast of the U.S.

Nearly 600 Falcon 2000 series aircraft are in service worldwide.
