India has signed two contracts with the U.S. worth $3 billion to purchase 22 AH-64E Apache and 15 CH-47F Chinook helicpters for the Indian air force.

India’s first dedicated multi-wavelength space observatory, Astrosat, has been successfully launched into orbit with six foreign satellite secondary payloads.

After a delay of more than three years, India has approved the purchase of 22 AH-64D Apache Longbow attack helicopters and 15 Chinook CH-47F heavy-lift helicopters from the U.S. for the country’s air force.
