What's Air India Doing To This Boeing 787?

Photos published on BangaloreAviation.com appear to show an Air India Boeing 787 - VT-ANI - that has been missing from service since April, stripped for parts at Mumbai airport.

Why is Air India parting out such a young airplane?

Responding to an enquiry from Devesh Agarwal, the author of Bangalore Aviation, the airline said the aircraft is "currently undergoing reliability improvement retrofit and will resume operations in November."
