The UK has added Portugal to a safe list of “travel corridors,” exempting arrivals from a 14-day quarantine, but removed Austria and Croatia in the latest update to British COVID-19-related travel restrictions.

In an update on its website, the UK government said that travelers arriving from Austria, Croatia and Trinidad & Tobago after 4 a.m. on Aug. 22 would have to self-isolate for 14 days. Arrivals from Portugal after that time will not need to.

The UK has already taken France, the Netherlands and Spain off its safe list of “travel corridors” with little warning in recent weeks, meaning arrivals from those destinations have had to self-isolate for 14 days, drawing condemnation from the UK aviation industry.
