US IFE Provider Bringing US Programming to International Flights

US IFE provider DirecTV Inflight is expanding its offering to the aviation sector by securing international programming rights to deliver US TV content on international flights departing from and returning to the US.

The El Segundo, California-based company will offer more than two dozen channels including sports networks such as NFL Network, NHL Network, Fox Soccer Plus and the Golf Channel, along with news and business programming including Fox News International, MSNBC and CNBC. Other entertainment options including Bravo, FX, USA, E! Network, National Geographic, Hallmark, and the Disney Channel, plus Spanish-language content from Telemundo and Univision.

“DirecTV Inflight is redefining the in-flight entertainment landscape for international travelers by connecting passengers to their favorite US content when they fly from and to the US,” DirecTV head of aviation strategy Kimberly de Flesco said. “We’re helping to keep passengers engaged, informed, and entertained while flying beyond US borders.”

DirecTV Inflight’s service is compatible with both seatback screens and personal devices.
