Zeiss Holographic Transparent Display Technology
The use of holographic technology inside airliner cabins is a focus of one company’s exhibit at the 2025 Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2025 in Hamburg.
Oberkochen, Germany-headquartered Zeiss is demonstrating products powered by its Multifunctional Smart Glass technology, which has been used on ESA and NASA space missions for many years.
These include holographic display technology that can be integrated into aircraft windows to create a display that is visually indistinguishable from conventional windows, but which can integrate flight information, moving maps or other details into the view.
Also on display are holographic technology that transforms cabin dividers into interactive digital surfaces or screens and the holographic human-machine interface that can be projected onto transparent or non-transparent surfaces so passengers can interact with in-flight systems without physically touching any surface.
