Afghanistan carrier Safi Airways is to inaugurate flights from Kabul to Delhi. The airline will operate four flights per week on the route from June 16 using an Airbus A320 with 12 Business Class and 132 Economy seats.
“Safi Airways endeavors to provide travelers with unique travel options along with secure, dependable and convenient flights. India’s capital has been on our radar for a while now and with growing demands for this sector, we will provide direct access to its passengers between the two hubs,” said Michael McTighe, Chief Operating Officer, Safi Airways.
The airline currently offers flights from Kabul to Dubai and is currently the largest airline in Afghanistan based on O&D traffic in the past year with an estimated 23.8 per cent share, followed closely behind by Ariana Afghan Airlines (23.6 per cent). Kam Air has a 21.1 per cent share, while Pamir Airways accounted for 11.4 per cent of the traffic in, out and within the country.
According to Michael McTighe, it has seen increasing loads on its routes. “The airline’s expansion looks encouraging and we aim to add more destinations in the coming months,” he added.
