Routes Middle East & Africa Marketing Awards – Shortlist Announced
Voting has now closed for the Routes Middle East & Africa Marketing Awards and the shortlisted airports and destinations were announced earlier this week.
The annual Routes Marketing awards are highly regarded as the most prestigious awards in the industry as they are voted for and judged by the airline network planning community. They provide the airline community with the chance to have their say as to which airport they think provides the best overall marketing services to them ensuring that the most effective campaigns are rewarded for their hard work and dedication to route development.
Shortlisted airports have now been contacted and asked for a submission to support their nomination. This submission process is designed to enable the shortlisted airports to provide information for the judging panel as to why they think they should win the award, providing evidence to support their case.
This year there will be four awards categories comprising of three airport categories, split by size, and a destination category for the best destination marketing campaign by a tourism authority. From the airports nominated the following have been shortlisted within each category:

Dubai International Airport
Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport
Abu Dhabi International Airport
King Abdulaziz International Airport
Between 4-20m Passengers
Queen Alia International Airport
Cape Town International Airport
Lagos- Murtala Muhammed
Addis Ababa Bole International Airport
Under 4m Passengers
Quatro de Fevereiro Airport
Entebbe International Airport
Julius Nyerere International Airport
Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport
Kilimanjaro International Airport
Destination
Tourism Ministry of Egypt and Egyptian Tourist Authority
Tanzania Tourist Board
Jordan Tourism Board
Zimbabwe Tourism Authority
Winners of the Routes Middle East & Africa 2015 Marketing Awards, will be announced during the Routes Middle East & Africa Networking Evening which will be held on Monday 1st June 2015 at the event in Bahrain and the overall winner will be automatically shortlisted, along with the winners of the other regional heats for the World Routes 2015 Marketing Awards which will be announced in Durban in September.
