The 2ndRoutes CIS event will open this weekend in Ekaterinburg, Russia. Hosted by Ekaterinburg Koltsovo Airport the event will take place at the angelo Airport Hotel Ekaterinburg which is connected to the Airport.
There are now 22 carriers registered to attend Routes CIS 2012. Russian based carriers include S7, Rossiya, Yakutia, Ural Airlines, VIM Airlines and Tatarstan Airlines. This will be the inaugural Routes conference for both VIM and Tatarstan.
Low Cost interest from outside the CIS region comes in the shape of FlyDubai and Pegasus which have a large existing network into the CIS. European low cost carrier Ryanair will also be present and this will be the first time they have attended Routes CIS.
Skyteam member Czech Airlines, which has a significant presence into the CIS, will be present with a senior delegation, whilst Middle East majors Etihad and Qatar Airways and Guangzhou based China Southern Airlines will also be in attendance. From the tour operator market, Nathalie Tours which is one of the largest outbound tour operators in Russia will be attend as well as TUI Russia. Recent registrations from airports include Krasnoyarsk Yemelyanovo Airport, Astrakhan Airport, Fujairah International Airport, Khabarovsk Airport, Vilnius International Airport and Lublin Airport. Other recent registrations come from airports attending their first ever Routes event including new airport; Omsk Fyodorovka Airport, Chita Kadala International Airport, Volgograd Airport, and Mineralyne Vody International Airport who attended their first ever Routes event just last month when they were present at Routes Europe in Tallinn.
The event will open on Sunday 24thJune with the Routes CIS Strategy Forum which is open to all registered delegates. This forum will see opening remarks from Mr Evgeny Chudnovsky, CEO of Koltsovo Airport and a presentation on Air Transport Traffic in Russia by Ms Marina Bukalova, Vice President of TCH Russia.
A panel of leading industry experts will then take part in a number of moderator led discussions which will address issues affecting aviation and route development across the region. Sessions will cover accessing the CIS market, attracting international tourists to the CIS and airport development in the CIS.
