US Airways is to introduce new services from Cincinnati, Ohio and Des Moines, Iowa to Washington, DC's Reagan National Airport on May 2, 2012 enhancing links for business, government and leisure travellers into the nation’s capital and connections to other destinations throughout the East Coast.
The new routes are part of an expanded network from Reagan National made possible by the recent slot swap with Delta Air Lines. US Airways has already announced its entry into eleven new markets from March 25, 2012 and confirms that it will announce an additional batch of flights in the spring for launch from July 11, 2012.
"Our new service from Cincinnati and Des Moines will provide a direct link to Washington, D.C. and connections to communities throughout the East Coast," said Andrew Nocella, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Planning, US Airways. "As we continue to expand at Reagan National, we remain focused on connecting customers in communities of all sizes with our nation's capital and providing them with convenient flight options and more travel choices."
The flight from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International will be operated on a daily schedule by PSA Airlines using a Bombardier CRJ200, while the Des Moines route will be flown six times weekly by US Airways Express carrier Republic Airlines using a dual-class, 69-seat Embraer 170.
