Over the next few weeks airlines from within the Africa region will be asked to vote in the fifth and final regional heat of the 2012 Routes Airport Marketing Awards.
Winners of the awards, which recognise the marketing performance of airports within the region, will be announced during the Routes Africa Networking Evening which will be held on Monday 9thJuly at the event in the Seychelles.
Airlines should consider the efficient use of marketing activities by an airport over the last 12 months when deciding who to nominate. The airport’s market research activities, marketing communications, business case presentations and joint communication campaigns with third parties should all be taken into account when voting in these highly regarded awards.
The winner from the region will automatically be shortlisted for the World Routes Marketing Awards meaning that the airport does not need votes from outside the region to be shortlisted for the World Awards giving them the chance to win a globally recognised industry award, no matter their size or region.
Kotoka International Airport in Ghana was named as the overall winner for the African region at last year’s Routes Africa event in Bamako, Mali and went on to win their category at the World Routes Marketing Awards which took place at World Routes in Berlin.
Already shortlisted for this year’s World Routes Marketing Awards are Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, overall winner for the Americas, Darwin International Airport who were crowned overall winner for the Asia region and Brussels Airport who took the top title recently at Routes Europe.
