
Airlines are set to offer 312 million departure seats from and within North America during the first quarter of 2025, reflecting 1.3% year-over-year growth, according to data from OAG Schedules Analyser.
The U.S. domestic market will account for nearly 80% of scheduled capacity, with American Airlines accounting for 21.8% of total seats. Southwest Airlines follows closely with 21%, while Delta Air Lines holds a 19.3% market share.
Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport will remain the region’s busiest airport, offering approximately 14.8 million departure seats between January and March 2025, up from 14.4 million in Q1 2024.
Los Angeles-San Francisco will be the busiest domestic route, with almost 812,000 two-way seats scheduled, while New York John F. Kennedy-London Heathrow continues to rank as the busiest international route from the region.
