Overall capacity in Colombia is set to top 2019 levels by more than 43% during the first quarter (Q1) of 2024, driven by strong gains in both the country’s domestic and international markets.

Domestic seat capacity will total about 11.6 million seats during the first three months of the year, compared with 8 million in Q1 2019, while the number of international departure seats will be about 3.3 million, marking a rise of 40.5% on pre-pandemic levels.

According to data from OAG Schedules Analyser, Avianca and LATAM Airlines Group have been the major movers over the past 12 months following the demise of Ultra Air and Viva. Avianca’s Q1 2024 capacity from and within Colombia is up by 37% year-on-year, while LATAM’s capacity is 30% higher.
