HONG KONG AIRLINES NEW SINGAPORE SERVICE

Effective January 15th 2011, Hong Kong Airlines will launch a daily service to Singapore with widebody A330-200 equipment. It will be the sixth carrier to operate the route. IATA BSP data shows that between September 2009 and September 2010, over 2 million O+D passengers flew the route with Cathay Pacific the market leader with a 45% share.


AIR CHINA INCREASES SYDNEY LINK

Star Alliance member Air China will increase its existing five-times weekly service to Sydney, to a six-times weekly effective June 1st 2011. Then from September 12th the route will become a daily rotation. Air China currently has a 55% share of the existing O+D market of 126,000 annual passengers.


SPRING TIME FOR HONG KONG

Low-Cost chinese operator Spring Airlines will commence non-stop service to Hong Kong from Shijiazhuang from December 23rd. The new route will be operated thrice-weekly with A320 aircraft. Effective April 2011, it will increase existing thrice-weekly service to a four-times weekly operating with A320 aircraft.


SEAIR TO INTRODUCE SINGAPORE SERVICE

SEAIR will commence scheduled services from its base at Clark Airport in the Philippines to Singapore effective December 16th. The route will be operated twice-daily. IATA BSP data shows that over 158,000 O+D passengers flew the route between September 2009 and September 2010 with Tiger Airways the market leader with a 57% share and Cebu Pacific with 44% share.


AIR MACAU TO SPLIT SHANGHAI SERVICE

Effective December 15th, Air Macau will begin non-stop services to Shanghai Hongqiao to be operated on a daily basis. As a result its existing thrice daily service to Pudong will now be operated twice-daily.
