Sitting in the back of a tiny eight-seater seaplane for an aeriel tour of the city of Vancouver feels like stepping back into an earlier age of flight.
A single propeller engine lifts our Harbour Air 'floatplane' clear of the YVR Airport seaplane base on the Fraser River for a 30-minute trip along the Pacific coastline and on to the city before dropping us down at the harbour.
The city is renowned for its natural beauty but seeing it from the air and during a rare break in the rain allowed us to see miles around and appreciate the mountains that are iconic parts of British Columbian tourist postcards.
